Anti-oxidant properties
Broccoli is on the top of other cruciferous vegetables as the best source of anti-oxidant nutrient –vitamin C. This vitamin helps in oxygen metabolism when accompanied with flavonoids. Broccoli is a rich source of many such flavonoids including kaempferol, and quercitin. Broccoli also consists of carotenoids such as zeaxanthin, lutien and betacarotene that function as anti-oxidants.
